Current Fifth District Commissioner Mike Hammond who intends to be a candidate for County Commissioner At Large is indicating an interest in talks about securing the former Red Food/Bi-Lo/Food City grocery store for a Senior Center. So, the communities of South Knox, Carter and others that have had smaller, reduced services Senior Centers built need to remember Mike Hammond wants a Rush Fitness Center sized senior center for West Knox County and Farragut. Hammond is quoted in the Farragut Press saying “there were a couple of place that could be refurbished and turned into that.” “That’s what we’re going to be looking at…”
